Sister Mary Austin was a very special person to the school community at St Joseph’s Primary School. She prayed for our students and staff every day.
Sister Austin worked tirelessly in our community, giving comfort to those in need. Sister Mary Austin was a regular visitor to the school and being a teacher earlier in her career, she loved spending time with the students.
Sister Austin proudly shared our school’s milestones and she named our school Library ‘Coolock’ after Catherine McAuley’s home in Ireland. We have a beautiful painting of Sister Austin in the Josephinum. Every second year, we have the pleasure of celebrating the values that Sister Mary Austin displayed.
